Reflection on my 4th quarter learning with Ms FontPage
During the fourth quarter, I had the opportunity to explore and learn about Microsoft FrontPage, a web design and development tool. Below is my reflection based on my experiences and accomplishments.
I discovered how to create and design web pages using MS FrontPage. I learned about its WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor, which allows users to design web pages without needing extensive coding knowledge. I also gained insights into HTML basics, inserting images, adding hyperlinks, and formatting text to enhance the website’s appearance. Additionally, I explored themes, templates, and publishing options that make website creation more efficient. One of the main challenges I faced was understanding the interface and tools of MS FrontPage, especially when working with advanced features like forms and tables. Another challenge was dealing with compatibility issues, as MS FrontPage is an older software, and some modern web design practices are not fully supported. Lastly, troubleshooting errors in layout and design sometimes took longer than expected To overcome these challenges, I explored tutorials and guides to understand how to use different features effectively. Practiced regularly by creating small projects to familiarize myself with the tools. Asked for help from teachers and classmates when I encountered issues. Compared MS FrontPage with modern website builders to understand how web design has evolved. Moving forward, I will continue to enhance my web design skills by exploring modern tools like WordPress, Wix, and coding with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I will also work on improving my problem-solving and troubleshooting skills by experimenting with more complex web projects. Most importantly, I will apply the foundations I learned from MS FrontPage to create better and more functional websites in the future. This quarter has been a great learning experience, and I look forward to further improving my web development skills.
